The U.S. Operations Manager is a hands-on operations leader reporting to the VP level.. This individual is self-motivated and committed to continuous process improvement. The successful candidate is analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple projects across all major U.S. shale basins, while maintaining safe and efficient frac well site service operations.

Based in Midland, Texas, the US Operations Manager will lead and partner closely with all key internal and external constituents to drive continuous improvement throughout the frac sand logistics process with the goal of increasing capacity and operational effectiveness and efficiency. The position will be responsible for direct oversight of the Permian Basin operations.

Essential Functions:
  • Oversight of frac sand logistics and field operations, focused on providing products and services to frac site operators safely and efficiently with the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining compliance with company standards, procedures, and all applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Management of field operations, vendors and subcontractors, and customer relations across key U.S. shale basins.
  • Leading and directing the execution of field logistics and deliverables according to customer specifications and contract requirements.
  • Establishing frac sand and similar logistics methods and protocols to ensure safe and timely product delivery utilizing appropriate equipment and tools.
  • Ensuring directives, rules and procedures are communicated to all operations staff.
  • Ensuring adequate staffing levels and mandating employee training to support operational demands and business objectives.
  • Ensuring maximum profitability through superior customer experience, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending matters with customers and suppliers.
  • Overseeing financial components of operations including cost control, margin expectations, productivity, change orders, equipment reporting, and reporting estimated cost to complete projects.
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure strong, productive, and honest interaction throughout the relationship/contract/agreement.
  • Maintaining strong business relationships with key internal constituents in Sales, Marketing, Maintenance, Customer Experience, Inventory, Logistics, Terminal Operations, Finance, and Safety/Environmental.
  • Holding basin managers responsible for implementing and maintaining safety methods, practices and programs, maintaining a clean, professional and safe working environment, and ensuring scheduled maintenance programs are established and that all equipment is properly accounted for and in safe working condition.
  • Working closely with Manager, Maintenance to ensure that equipment is inspected on a routine basis and in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
  • Maintaining a positive employee environment by ensuring sound management practices are implemented regionally including training, coaching, recognition, and performance management.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
  • B.S. or B.A. in Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Operations Management or Business required.
  • Extensive management experience in E&P frac site operations, inventory management and logistics, and fracturing services.
  • Experience supervising and/or managing multi-site operational groups.
  • Strong management, planning, organizational and leadership skills. Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with regulatory agencies, company contacts, customers and employees.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications and in other menu driven programs used by the company.
  • Understand budgeting and financial processes. Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to resolve operational problems and be able to work with location personnel to resolve the problem.
  • Knowledge of various laws including but not limited to OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.
  • Must have ability to work in and effectively supervise and lead in a team environment.
  • 35% Travel.
