Job Description:  
Are you passionate about security data and analysis?  Do you have a strong technical background and an ability to assess enterprise networks for vulnerabilities?  The Security Consulting Engineer will provide technical and best practice guidance to ensure that the customer achieves maximum value from their infrastructure.  This position also serves as a focal point between the customers and the Splunk ecosystem.    

  • Analyze real time security data and direct security activities with Splunk Administrators, Security Architects, Analysts, Client Managers and Users for developing best practices through out the SIEM ecosystem.
  • Assist and provide expert best practices in adoption, expansion, additional use cases and in setting up and configuration of the environment.
  • Assist with system upgrade planning and execution.
  • Assist in workshops to help train and advise customers on best practices and lead periodic stakeholder meetings.
  • Provide insights with respect to the availability and applicability of new products and features.
  • Support Professional Services in identifying, scoping, and selling follow on and new service opportunities.
  • Support Education Services in identifying and recommending staff training opportunities.
  • Identify in collaboration with the Account team the key success criteria for system deployment and drive customer success and satisfaction.
  • Act as the product liaison and product champion fielding technical questions, issues or escalations.  
  • Work closely with the Account Team to identify opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Maintain current functional and technical knowledge of the latest SIEM platforms and associated products.
  • Help to document best practices and writing up unique use cases white papers or marketing materials.
  • 3+ years of configuring & implementing solutions around the Splunk ecosystem. 
  • 5+ years focused on Enterprise Cyber Security solutions.
  • Strong technical, analytic and problem solving skills combined with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems.
  • Strong knowledge (recent experience) with the following technology: storage, servers, data centers, and cloud.
  • Enterprise and/or cloud software experience.
  • Experience successfully managing customer engagements to completion with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable success in thinking strategically and executing tactically, while providing consistent and high levels of customer satisfaction and retention in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing efforts as needed.
  • Participate in training design, documentation and delivery efforts in concert with the Solutions Architect and other project team member.
  • Up to 50% (estimated average 25%) travel based on customer and business need (depending on location of customers and candidate there may be more or less travel).
 Technical Skills/Experience That Are ‘Nice To Haves’
  • Large scale implementation, analytics and big data experience.
  • Previous hands on technical experience with a progression of career responsibility.
  • Previous FireEye, LogRhythm, AlienVault or similar product knowledge.
  • Security domain, implementation and security tools knowledge.
  • Virtualization and systems administration knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent.
